展示会「未来につながるものづくり」で展示させていただく、NEW TRADITIONALのご紹介です。
福祉×伝統工芸の可能性に着目し一般財団法人「たんぽぽの家」が始めた、新しいものづくりのあり方や伝統工芸の可能性を模索していくプロジェクト。
春日大社境内の杉から生まれた燭台は天然木ゆえの表情豊かな美しい木目を持つ。
枯損木や風倒木というこれまで活用が難しかった木に、新たな生命を吹き込みまれている。
担い手の少ない工芸を障がいのある人が担うことは、ものづくりの手法が継がれるだけでなく、障がいのある人だからこそできるプロセスへと変化し、障がいのある人の所得の向上につながります。
展示会では、燭台を取り扱いしています。

NEW TRADITIONAL
Candlesticks Created from the Synergy of Wood and Maker
Tanpopo No Ie foundation began this project to explore new possibilities of combining welfare service and the creation of traditional crafts. The candlesticks have a beautifully expressive grain because they are made of natural wood from cedar trees on the grounds of Kasuga Taisha Shrine. “We have given a new life to dead and fallen trees that were difficult to use until now. When people with disabilities take on roles in crafts that have few practitioners, not only is the method of manufacturing passed on, but the process is transformed into one that can only be performed by people with disabilities. It also results in higher incomes for them. We would be very happy if you could put a candle on the candlestick, light it, and enjoy the moment.”
